George Mason Real Estate Toolkit Workshop: Due Diligence
Due Diligence for Commercial Real Estate Transactions
You have a property under contract...what’s the next step? Answer: Due Diligence Study. Due diligence study is an investigation to confirm all material facts about the property. You will learn essential tasks to be completed on a real estate acquisition: how to distil data from leases, credit analysis and market reports; how to read trends in historical operating reports; how to budget expenditures after reviewing environmental studies and property condition assessments; how to study title reports, surveys and zoning issues to unearth potential legal pitfalls; how to assess future development potential, and more.
